Following our Europe-LAND expert workshop on IACS data in February 2025, we launched a dedicated IACS Data Community of Practice. This self-sustaining community of 40+ members connects researchers, policy makers and practitioners together, encouraging shared insights and collaborative research related to agricultural land use data.
With members from over 10 countries, this community is dynamic and ever-growing. Interested in staying informed about the latest developments in IACS data research and connecting with likeminded experts? Join now!
Through both virtual and in-person events, the various IACS data topics you can contribute to include:
- Use guide + paper/publication (challenges and solutions) – Developing resources to document and address challenges in using IACS data.
- Policy/opinion brief – Creating concise reports with policy recommendations based on IACS data insights.
- List of interventions (in IACS or AEMS) – Compiling an overview of implemented measures within IACS or AEMS for research and policy use.
- ‘Optimal’ locations of measures vs. real-world implementation – Analyzing differences between ideal measure placement and actual implementation.
- Use of EU-wide IACS (crop diversity/rotation) – Exploring IACS data for insights on crop diversity and rotation across Europe.
- New proposals (e.g., on Nitrogen and land-use intensity) – Developing research or policy proposals on nitrogen use and land-use intensity.
- Network of IACS experts / Community of Practice – Building a network for knowledge exchange and collaboration on IACS topics.
- Expanding the IACS database – Enhancing the IACS database with additional datasets and improved standardization.
- Data integration/enrichment – Combining IACS data with other sources for more comprehensive analyses.
- Identifying (and responding to) suitable funding options – Finding and applying for funding opportunities for IACS-related research.
