Now covering 20 countries, we invite researchers, policymakers, and data users to explore the new release and provide feedback. This release significantly expands our existing database, with a full list of upgrades listed below: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New regions covered: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Baden-Wuerttemberg with data from 2022 (crop info)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bulgaria with data from 2014-2025 (crop info)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tuscany, Italy with data from 2016-2023 (crop info, farm ids)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wallonia, Belgium with data from 2015-2023 (only crop info)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Time series extended:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Austria (+2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flanders, Belgium (+2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Czechia (+2024, 2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Denmark (+2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Estonia (+2024)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finland (+2024, 2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>France (+2024)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Germany-Brandenburg (+2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Germany-Lower-Saxony (+2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Germany-North-Rhine-Westphalia (+2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ireland (+2024)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lithuania (+2025 LPIS data)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Netherlands (+2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Portugal (+2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slovakia (+2024, 2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slovenia (+2024, 2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sweden (+2024)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Classification refinements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mixed classes were introduced in the classification scheme to differentiate between pure classes and mixed classes, e.g. cereal-legume mixes, crops with undersowing, pastures with trees etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Missing crop and land-use classes, such as agroforestry, landscape elements, sugar cane and many others were newly added to capture as many as possible different land-uses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Existing classes were refined by adding more subclasses, such as greenhouses (to differentiate between different crops) and potatoes (to differentiate between growing seasons)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Corrections of translation and classification errors:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Using LLMs we checked all crop name translations and the classification into HCAT classes and corrected where necessary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Corrections of geodata:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Removed features with no geometry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Removed duplicate features<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Made sure all crops of field blocks were reported (concerns Ireland)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Made field-IDs truly unique<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce a major update of the Harmonized IACS Database (v1.3), now publicly available via Zenodo.
